100th anniversary of the Praděd lookout tower
The highest mountain in Moravia, Praděd (1,492 m above sea level), has been a popular destination for tourists since the 2nd half of the 19th century. The efforts of the tourist association in the Jeseníky Mountains to build a lookout tower date back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. After a number of vicissitudes, the construction began on June 30, 1904.
Fata Morgana Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden of the Capital City of Prague was founded in 1969 and opened to the public in 1992.
Grand hotel Pupp
The Grandhotel Pupp has been the pride of Karlovy Vary for three centuries. The hotel has been renovated several times. In 1907, however, one of the most extensive reconstructions took place, thanks to which the current Neo-Baroque appearance of the hotel was created, which is famous all over the world, mainly thanks to the International Film Festival, which takes place here every year.
3D Planetarium Pilsen – Techmania
What's better than two dimensions? Three dimensions! On November 4 at 2:00 p.m., Techmania opened a state-of-the-art 3D planetarium, the first of its kind in the Czech Republic. It will offer you three-dimensional projections on a spherical surface and much more.
411 Lookout tower Plešivec
Among the lookout towers of the Ore Mountains, Plešivec is a unique building. The all-wooden lookout tower, on the top of the peak of the same name 1028 m above sea level, was built in 1895. This is mainly due to the association of friends of nature from Abertamy, which has been raising funds for the construction of the tower since its inception.
Jurkovič Lookout Tower
The unique Jurkovič Lookout Tower was built from October 2010 to November 2011 on Charles Hill in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, above the Wallachian Village of the Wallachian Open Air Museum. The building for ten million crowns is according to the plans of architect Dušan Jurkovič, whose other buildings you can visit in the region.
